Size finder

Teacup or jumbo? Let's find your dog's antler.

Match the chew to your dog, not the other way around. A dog should be able to hold it comfortably and get their mouth around it without it disappearing.

Still not sure? Call Emily on (219) 384-1033 or email [email protected] and describe your dog.

Where it comes from

No, we do not kill any elk or deer for their antler.

Bulls and bucks shed their antlers every single year. It is a natural cycle, and it happens whether anyone collects them or not. Shed collectors hike miles through the Rockies each spring to find them, and we buy directly from those collectors.

Don Schaufler started doing exactly this in the late 1970s. We have never done it any other way - and we only ever cut this season's shed, because the newer the antler, the tougher it is and it will not splinter like the weathered, aged antler.

Everything you need to know about antler
Jamie sitting among thousands of naturally shed elk antlers
Mid to late spring
Velvet and growth
Antler grows in velvet to allow blood flow. By the end of spring it is about half its final length.
Summer
Peak growth
The fastest-growing living tissue in nature. By the end of summer growth is complete and hardening begins.
Fall
Hardening
Velvet peels as bulls rub on trees. That rubbing is what gives antler its rich, darker color.
Late winter
The shed
Antler drops naturally. Collectors hike miles to find it, we buy it, and only this season's shed gets cut.

Meet the family

We're not a pet brand that added antler.

We're an antler family that started a pet brand - three generations, going back to the late 1970s.

It started in the late 1970s with one man buying antler out of the Rockies. Today the whole family is in it - driving the western states for fresh shed, cutting it by hand in Indiana and Montana, and towing the show trailer to shows and markets throughout the Region.
